1996 - Das NATO Tigermeet in Beja/Portugal bildet den Anlaß für die Staffel, wieder mal einen ECR mit den "markings" eines Tigers auszustatten. Dieses Mal sollte es jedoch eine Vollbemalung werden. Da sich das Geschwader noch im Einsatz im Rahmen von SFOR über dem ehemaligen Jugoslavien befand, und das Flugzeug nach wie vor für den Einsatz nutzbar bleiben mußte, kam nur eine schwarz-graue Bemalung in Betracht und auch nur an einer Maschine.

Eines Tages machte sich Lukas mit einem schwarzen Fettstifft an die Arbeit und skizzierte nach Dienst und über das Wochenende, aus dem Bauch heraus, die Umrisse der schwarzen und grauen Tigerstreifen auf das Flugzeug.

Als die Maschine einen Tag vor Abflug nach Beja fertig bemalt vor der Halle stand, verschandelte in einer Nacht und Nebel Aktion eine Gruppe von besonders guten Kameraden aus der Monster Staffel, durch beidseitiges Aufsprühen ihres Staffelwappens, das Tail der Maschine. Um eine Eskalation des Konfliktes zu vermeiden, einigte man sich darauf, es auf einer Seite stehen zu lassen (sozusagen als Gruß der Monster an das Tigermeet, an dem sie leider nie selber teilnehmen werden können), nämlich auf der, wie Lukas meinte, die man bei der Landung in Beja nicht sehen könnte. Leider standen die Winde bei der Landung ungünstig, so daß seither auf den Modellen einiger unwissender und gedankenloser Modell Hersteller, das Wappen der Monster Staffel auf dem Tail zu sehen ist.

1996 - The NATO Tigermeet at Beja/Portugal offers the chance for colouring another jet with the markings of the tiger. But this time it should be the whole airplane. Because the wing was still engaged in the SFOR operation over the former Yugoslavia, and the airplane had to remain operational, only a black and white scheme stood to discussion and just one single airplane.

One day Lukas took a black grease pen and painted over the weekend the outlines of the tiger stripes on the assigned airplane.
When the complete painted airplane stood one day prior departure to Beja in front of a maintenance hall, some comrades of the monster squadron desecrated the airplane by painting their squadron crest on the tail of it. To de-escalate the situation it was negotiated that the painting could remain on one side of the fin (so to say as a greeting of the monsters to the tigermeet where they never could participate). Lukas decided for the side of the tail which would not be visible during the landing in Beja, but - damn' - the winds were so unfortunate at the landing period that it was the wrong side. Since then an unknowing seller of plastic models sells this its models with the squadron crest of the monsters on the tail.
